Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, cm The Great!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Great is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
The Great lands a nice shot that snaps Daniels's head back.
The Great wants to clinch but Daniels slips to the side

and Daniels counters by clinching up.

Daniels's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Daniels darts in and clinches The Great up against the ropes.

The Great lands a takedown into guard.
Daniels pulls The Great in close to prevent any damage.
The Great must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The Great would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Daniels wants to stand but The Great is controlling the position.

Daniels looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! The Great has picked Daniels up and slammed him! Daniels can't keep hold of the triangle and The Great manages to pass to side control!

The Great goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Daniels has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for The Great but great work by Daniels.
Daniels connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused The Great some visible discomfort.

The Great really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Daniels. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The Great working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Daniels doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Daniels manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Daniels is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Daniels's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now The Great is on top in guard.
Lyden Daniels overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The Great drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Daniels manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now The Great has Daniels in his guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
