Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roman Pavluchenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juri Arpa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roman Pavluchenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juri Arpa!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pavluchenko knocks Arpa to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?


It looks like Juri Arpa has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pavluchenko prevents Arpa from escaping the position.
Pavluchenko misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Arpa is looking to reverse the position.
Pavluchenko misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Arpa is not content to let Pavluchenko control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pavluchenko is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Arpa is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Pavluchenko throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Pavluchenko working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Pavluchenko swings around for an armbar but Arpa sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Pavluchenko's guard.
Pavluchenko has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

We're going to have a standup here because Roman Pavluchenko wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Arpa stuffs the takedown.

Arpa slips a jab and a cross from Pavluchenko.
Arpa takes a swing at Pavluchenko's ribcage but misses.
Arpa misses the shot to the body.
Arpa ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pavluchenko moves away.
Pavluchenko ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Arpa attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Arpa punishes Pavluchenko's body with a nice straight punch.
Arpa misses with a lunging right hand
and Pavluchenko counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Arpa throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Pavluchenko counters with a left and a right that stings Arpa.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pavluchenko avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Arpa throws a leg kick
and Pavluchenko counters with a stiff right hand.
Juri Arpa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pavluchenko tries to clinch up.
Pavluchenko tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Arpa throws a nice inside leg kick.
Arpa looks to throw the jab but Pavluchenko is out of range.

A combination from Arpa does no damage.
Arpa avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Arpa swings for the body but Pavluchenko moves out of range.
Arpa thows a left - swing and a miss!
Arpa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pavluchenko was well out of range. Poor timing from Arpa.
Arpa drops his hands momentarily and Pavluchenko takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Pavluchenko throws a right and a left that Arpa avoids nicely.
Arpa just misses with a punch to the body.
Arpa throws a shot from downtown. Pavluchenko moves away and avoids it.

Pavluchenko throws a left that rocks Arpa and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Pavluchenko dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Arpa regain composure!

Pavluchenko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Arpa keeps working.
Arpa is still in real trouble! Can Pavluchenko finish him?

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Pavluchenko tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Pavluchenko tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pavluchenko throws an elbow that misses. Arpa uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pavluchenko's guard. Nice move by Arpa!

Pavluchenko is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Arpa is looking to stand up but Pavluchenko won't let him.

Pavluchenko wants to hit a switch here but Arpa passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Pavluchenko there!
Pavluchenko regains half guard.
Arpa is stalling here. Pavluchenko is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Arpa seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Pavluchenko has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Pavluchenko is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Arpa is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The strikes coming from Pavluchenko are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
The ground and pound from Pavluchenko seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Pavluchenko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Pavluchenko throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Pavluchenko tries to advance to mount but Arpa instead regains half guard.

Pavluchenko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Arpa swivels though and keeps the full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Arpa utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Pavluchenko shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Arpa as he avoids it easily.

Pavluchenko slips a jab and a cross from Arpa.

Arpa throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Arpa misses the body punch
and Pavluchenko counters with an inside leg kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pavluchenko lands with a right that hurts Arpa. Arpa looks to clinch but Pavluchenko throws a short knee that drops Arpa. This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch and Knee). Roman Pavluchenko!
