The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lynch throws a nice outside leg kick.
Taines darts in trying to clinch

and Lynch holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Taines drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Lynch got a little sloppy there for a moment and Taines has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lynch has managed to get both his arms back between Taines's legs - danger averted.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Taines crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Lynch - the referee stops the clock and Taines gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Lynch. Taines manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Taines shoots in looking for a takedown. Lynch tries to sprawl out of it but Taines keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lynch manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Turbo Taines is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Taines is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Turbo Taines seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lynch.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Taines. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
