Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Tomb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Sax (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tomb kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Impaled Nazarene - Nyrkilla Tapettava Huora. Sax has chosen Somebody gonna get they ass kicked by: 36 Mafia as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mark Tomb!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Harry Sax!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tomb instigates a clinch.
Sax is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sax tries to break the clinch but Tomb is controlling the position.

Tomb has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sax uses from the top position.
Tomb wants to sweep here but Sax controlling him for the moment.

Tomb looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Tomb lands a couple of shots from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tomb is on top in guard.
Tomb looking to pass the guard.
Sax looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Tomb is stalling in the full guard.
Tomb has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sax wants to sweep but no luck.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tomb slips nicely into half guard.
Tomb wants to free his trapped foot but Sax is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Tomb is working for a submission of some sort.
Tomb slows the pace down in half guard.

Tomb is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sax is just riding it out for now. Tomb eventually gives up the hold.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tomb moves nicely into side control.
Tomb wants to control but Sax is keeping him busy.
Sax pushes Tomb away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Tomb gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Tomb working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Tomb is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sax knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Tomb wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sax keeps working.
Tomb is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Tomb thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Sax really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tomb. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tomb is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sax has escaped the position, nice work there.
Tomb is looking to take a break and control but Sax is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sax is looking to regain half guard here but Tomb keeps moving and retains side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Tomb tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tomb has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Tomb is looking to take a break and control but Sax is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Tomb lands a few punches from side control.
Tomb throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Sax tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tomb wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Tomb dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.


A decent looking cross lands there for Sax.
Tomb avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sax ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Sax digs a good body shot into Tomb's ribs.
Tomb takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sax lands a brutal head kick. Tomb looks out on his feet and Sax throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Harry Sax!
