Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Higgs Boson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boson has chosen "Large Hadron Rap" by alpinekat as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vera changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Boson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Vera is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Boson has escaped the position, nice work there.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Vera tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Vera has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Boson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Vera's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Vera is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Boson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Vera!
Boson wants to control the pace but Vera is squirming around nicely.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Boson is looking to take a break and control but Vera is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Boson motions for Vera to come forward. Boson throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Boson throws a series of punches but Vera avoids them all with ease.

Vera closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Vera is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Boson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Brandon Vera overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Vera has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Boson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Vera yanks on the arm and Boson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Vera.
