Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sinkaram Hamzah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stran Gler!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Alyssa Summers and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gler is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hamzah's half guard.
Gler is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Gler is trying to control. Hamzah wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Gler thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Gler seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hamzah does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hamzah with the active half guard here but Gler passes nicely into side control.
Hamzah wants to control but Gler postures up.

Gler misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Gler wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hamzah keeps working.
Gler is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Gler throws a strike aimed at the side of Hamzah's head but Hamzah avoids it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gler wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hamzah keeps working.

Gler uses his free foot to push down on Hamzah's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hamzah.

and Hamzah counters with a three punch combo that has Gler backing up. Gler nods at Hamzah to acknowledge the strikes.
Stran Gler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hamzah slaps away a takedown attempt from Gler, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Hamzah tests Gler's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Stran Gler is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hamzah lands a big uppercut and Gler crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Gler looks OK. Hamzah waves Gler back to his feet!

It looks like Stran Gler has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gler shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hamzah as he avoids it easily.
Gler is still on wobbly legs! Can Hamzah finish him?

Gler trying to control the position from guard on top but Hamzah is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Gler seems to have recovered his senses.
Hamzah on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hamzah tries to get out of the position.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Hamzah drops Gler with a beautiful combination! Gler stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Hamzah is looking for the KO!

Hamzah connects with a body shot that sends Gler's belly button to the back.
Gler backs away from a small jab... but Hamzah lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Gler crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Hamzah with a spectacular finish!
