Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Julio Quintana!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Bruno Lombardi and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quintana connects with a high kick.
Quintana displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from The East.

Quintana looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for The East!
The East takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The East is looking to regain half guard here but Quintana keeps moving and retains side control.
Quintana controls the position.
Quintana is looking to take a break and control but The East is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Quintana cracks The East with a big elbow.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

The East is trying to improve his position.
The East is working hard here to advance position.
The East struggling a bit here.
Quintana trying to control the position but The East is working away.
The East tries to buck Quintana off but Quintana is having none of it.
Quintana wants to lay and pray for a moment but The East keeps working.

Quintana scores with a couple of short elbows.
The East is looking for a sweep.
Quintana working the body and head with strikes.
Quintana remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The East tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Quintana wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The East is squirming around, avoiding Quintana's attempts to control the action.

The East is trying desperately to improve position.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Quintana lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

The East is rocked!
The East tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Oh The East is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The East is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Quintana loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have The East scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Quintana land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Quintana stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Julio Quintana!
Julio Quintana really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that TFP Graphics - Pit Inc logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
