Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Masaaki Hatsumi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tibo Erisson Curtez Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hatsumi comes to the cage accompanied by Ninja mi Ninja. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shirou Masuda and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hatsumi looks to throw the jab but Curtez Silva is out of range.
Hatsumi connects with a good right hand that stumbles Curtez Silva. Curtez Silva circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Hatsumi throws a chopping leg kick but Curtez Silva manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Hatsumi bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Curtez Silva darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Hatsumi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Curtez Silva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Curtez Silva sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hatsumi's guard.

Curtez Silva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hatsumi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Curtez Silva has managed to get both his arms back between Hatsumi's legs - danger averted.

You can see the frustration on Curtez Silva's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Curtez Silva is pushing down on Hatsumi's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hatsumi is fighting to maintain full guard but Curtez Silva has managed to sneak the leg through.

That was a close round but I would say that Masaaki Hatsumi will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
