Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ricky Rex!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tristian Okami!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rex rushes Okami and presses him up against the cage.

Rex gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Rex distracts Okami with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Okami is on top in guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Rex holds on and takes a little breather.
Rex has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Okami tries to free his leg and advance position but Rex is retaining full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ricky Rex.
Rex closes the distance and clinches.
Rex misses with an elbow over the top.
Rex tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Rex's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rex throws a sloppy head kick and Okami moves out of range easily.
Okami tries for a takedown but Rex circles away easily
and Rex decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Okami's guard.

Okami looking for a guillotine here but Rex defends easily.

Rex keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Okami's head.

Rex stands up over Okami, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rex is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Okami is rocked!
Rex gets to his feet and stands over Okami, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Okami felt that one! Rex unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Okami from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ricky Rex!
