The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lover changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Penn looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Penn wants to get back to his feet but Lover drags him back down.
Lover trying to control the position but Penn is working away.
Penn is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Lover's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Lover tries to pass the half guard into mount. Penn knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lover looks to land a strike but Penn avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Penn working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lover doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Penn is tightening it up a little... Lover has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Lover reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Lover taps out! Nice BJJ there by Penn!
