Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eric Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neil Ashworth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Neil Ashworth!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ashworth pushes Green up against the cage in a clinch.

Ashworth jumps into guard, dragging Green to the mat.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Ashworth looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Green preventing the sweep.
Green not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Eric Green has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Green lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

and Ashworth counters with a head kick. That will keep Green thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ashworth rushes Green and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Green is pressed up against the cage. Ashworth has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Green down to the mat. Green avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Green stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Green wants it to stay on the feet.

Green changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ashworth tries to avoid it but Green manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ashworth to the ground. Ashworth escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ashworth is looking to clinch but Green is avoiding it.

Ashworth moves into the clinch.
Ashworth fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Ashworth can't find room to land a body shot as Green controls the action.
Ashworth wants to get back to striking at distance but Green won't allow it.

Green struggles to land a body shot inside as Ashworth controls his hands.

Ashworth pulls Green into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Green controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Ashworth has a closed guard, preventing Green from standing up.

Ashworth is looking for a triangle but Green pushes his legs off easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Green drops back looking for a leg! Ashworth is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ashworth manages to kick Green off! Green jumps back into Ashworth's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Green lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Green shoots in and drives through. Ashworth sprawls well.

Ashworth drives through and clinches with Green against the cage.

Ashworth pulls guard effortlessly.

Green wants to control from the top but Ashworth keeps moving.
Ashworth is trying to control the position but Green postures up.

Ashworth has his foot on Green's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Green works his way back into a safe position though.

Green trying to control but Ashworth is working from the bottom.
Green postures up and lands a big shot to Ashworth's brow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ashworth wants to sweep but no luck.
Green looking to sit in guard and control but Ashworth gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Ashworth pushing down on Green's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Green wants to get back to full guard.
Green is refusing to be controlled, as Ashworth sits in half guard.

Green is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ashworth pulls his head out easily.

Ashworth gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Green avoids the body shot from Ashworth.
Green shoots in for a takedown but Ashworth shows good takedown defense.
Ashworth shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Green defends it nicely.
Ashworth is breathing heavily.

Green wants to break the clinch but can't.

Ashworth breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Green moves into range and clinches up with Ashworth.
Ashworth stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Ashworth jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Green walks away with a smile on his face. Ashworth gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ashworth shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Green defends it nicely.
Green closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ashworth circles away.
Ashworth tries to bum rush Green with a series of wild strikes but Green uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ashworth looks for a takedown but Green sprawls well.

Ashworth tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Green manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Eric Green is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Green leaves Ashworth with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ashworth enables Green to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ashworth manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Green stands up and waves to Ashworth to follow him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ashworth tries to clinch there but Green circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Green shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ashworth but Ashworth pushes him off and we're back to square one.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Eric Green will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Ashworth closes the distance and clinches up with Green, looking for a takedown. Ashworth pushes Green against the cage but Green circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Green looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ashworth is fending him off so far but Green persists. Nope, Ashworth circles away and we're back to standing.

Green dives in and grabs Ashworth's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ashworth pushes down on Green's head and hops out.

Ashworth shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Green defends it nicely.
Green shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ashworth as he avoids it easily.

Ashworth leaves Green with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Ashworth moves into range and clinches up with Green.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Ashworth tries for a takedown. No joy.
Ashworth goes for a takedown in the clinch but Green prevents it.
Green wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Ashworth throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Ashworth successfully pulls guard.
Green wants to stand but Ashworth is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Green looking to pass the guard.
Green slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Ashworth is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Green in particular looking to stall.
Ashworth tries to roll over but Green keeps him under control.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Neil Ashworth.
I think Ashworth has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
