Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Haku Kokina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phal Um (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phal Um has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Haku Kokina!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 19 - 0, fighting out of New York, Phal Um!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Chad Campbell and Alyssa Summers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kokina throws a nice looking combination but Um bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Um punishes Kokina's body with a nice straight punch.
A jab lands there for Um.

Um looking to score a takedown here. Kokina is defending well but Um drives through and ends up in Kokina's guard.
Um prevents Kokina from getting back to his feet.
Um controls from within his opponent's guard.
Kokina wants to stand and escape but Um is having none of it.
Um is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Kokina wants to stand up but Um is controlling him.
Um is standing up over Kokina. Kokina looks to escape but Um dives into side control.
Um has knee on belly and moves into mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
You get the feeling that Kokina really doesn't like being in this position too much.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee warns Kokina that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Um pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Um with a couple of short strikes.

Kokina is rocked!
Um raining down shots from the mount!
Oh Kokina is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kokina is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Um postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kokina looks a forlorn figure.
Kokina seems to have got his legs back now.
Um lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Kokina squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
BOOM! Um connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Um scoring with strikes but Kokina is staying in there.
Um has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Kokina is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Um putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A big strike lands for Um! That's really hurt Kokina and he's turned his back - Um keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Um jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
