The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Moretti darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Let's hope that Moretti has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Salvatore Moretti.
Moretti looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Steel Penn is fending him off so far but Moretti persists. Nope, Steel Penn circles away and we're back to standing.

Moretti shoots in and bounces Steel Penn off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Steel Penn is looking for a triangle but Moretti pushes his legs off easily.
Moretti is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Moretti drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Moretti jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Steel Penn is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Moretti gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Steel Penn misses with a body kick.

Moretti bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Moretti takes a little break here. Steel Penn wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Moretti decides to stand back up. Moretti steps back and let's Steel Penn get back to his feet.

Steel Penn stuffs the takedown attempt from Moretti. Moretti gets slowly back to his feet.

Moretti tries for a takedown but Steel Penn sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Mr Steel Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Salvatore Moretti.

Moretti shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Steel Penn as he avoids it easily.
Mr Steel Penn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Steel Penn throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Steel Penn bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Moretti shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Moretti was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
You can see the frustration on Steel Penn's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Steel Penn is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Steel Penn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Moretti on the ground.

Moretti has hold of Steel Penn's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Steel Penn tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Moretti cranks the arm and Steel Penn screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Steel Penn, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

After winning the bout, Salvatore Moretti thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
