Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vasili Vasja Putin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gareth Gobblecoque (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gareth Gobblecoque will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gobblecoque tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Putin was well out of range. Poor timing from Gobblecoque.
Gobblecoque tries to score a power double leg takedown but Putin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gobblecoque somewhat.
Gobblecoque throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gobblecoque lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Putin circles away quickly and effectively.
Gobblecoque is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Putin scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Gobblecoque looks to land a body kick but Putin moved away.

Gobblecoque throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Putin was covering up waiting for the punch and Gobblecoque finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Putin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Gobblecoque shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Putin eats them both and turns towards Gobblecoque to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Putin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gobblecoque.

Gobblecoque shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Putin but Putin pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Gobblecoque changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Putin tries to avoid it but Gobblecoque manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Putin to the ground. Putin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Vasili Vasja Putin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gareth Gobblecoque.

Gobblecoque throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Putin lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Gobblecoque or not.

Putin lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Gobblecoque tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Putin just stands there and leans against the cage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Putin trying to control the position from guard on top but Gobblecoque is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Putin tries to free his leg and advance position but Gobblecoque is retaining full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gobblecoque is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Putin defends well.

letting Putin counter with a right hand.

Putin closes the distance and clinches.

Gobblecoque's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Gobblecoque tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Putin swivels and escapes.
Gobblecoque tries to close the distance and clinch up but Putin swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Putin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gobblecoque's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Putin connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Gobblecoque scrambles back to his feet.
Putin cracks Gobblecoque with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Gobblecoque throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Putin's waist but Putin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gobblecoque off to one side.
Gareth Gobblecoque seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gobblecoque fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Putin to the ground. Gobblecoque is now in Putin's guard.

Gobblecoque drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Gobblecoque as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Putin screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Gobblecoque! Nice submission victory there!
