Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eric Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Todd Thain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thain has chosen Cypress Hill: Insane In The Brain as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Drake moves into the clinch successfully.

Drake using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Thain has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Drake stands up from Thain's guard - Drake perhaps looking for a knockout.

Thain tries to keep at a distance but Drake has taken the fight into the clinch.
The is referee keeping an eye on Drake - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Drake landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Drake tries to land a knee to the head but Thain blocks with his arms.
Thain drops down looking for an ankle pick but Drake pulls his leg out and moves away.
Thain shoots in for a takedown but Drake shows good takedown defense.
Drake tries to close the distance and clinch up but Thain swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Drake connects with a nasty looking knee right to Thain's face.

Drake breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Drake moves into range and clinches up with Thain.
With the fighters up against the cage, Drake throws an elbow but misses.
Drake comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Drake escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Thain shoots in looking for a takedown. Drake tries to sprawl out of it but Thain keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Drake manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Drake, right into the meat.
Drake really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Drake is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Thain is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Drake is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Drake flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Thain anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Drake and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Thain slips an arm under Drake chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Thain has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Thain is squeezing on Drake like an anaconda would it's prey. Drake fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
