Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Baird!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nolan Sackett!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sackett throws a jab but it's blocked by Baird.

Baird looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Baird is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Baird trying to control the position from guard on top but Sackett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sackett can do anything to dispel that myth.

James Baird has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Sackett swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Baird.

Baird displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sackett throws out the jab.
Baird looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Sackett throws a hook to the side of Baird's head but Baird sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Baird gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Sackett can't break the clinch.
Baird fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Baird is looking for a takedown.
Baird has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Sackett is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Baird pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Sackett lands a big uppercut and Baird crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Baird looks OK. Sackett waves Baird back to his feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sackett throws a big shot that misses.
Baird glances at the clock... BAM! Sackett nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Baird crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Baird is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nolan Sackett!
