Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alex Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ethan Prowler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes to the cage accompanied by CoraçãoSatanico. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Josh West.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws an off balance right hand

and Prowler counters with a takedown into side control.

Prowler is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Silva has escaped the position, nice work there.

Silva throws Prowler to one side and escapes!
Silva misses with a straight right.
Silva bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

It looks like Ethan Prowler has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Prowler moves out of range as Silva strikes.
Silva pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Prowler throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Silva was covering up waiting for the punch and Prowler finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Prowler throws an elbow that misses. Silva uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Prowler's guard. Nice move by Silva!

Prowler looking for a guillotine here but Silva defends easily.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Prowler wants to get back to his feet but Silva is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Prowler kicks Silva off and gets to his feet.
Silva throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Alex Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Prowler looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Prowler wants to work for an arm triangle but Silva is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Silva wants to stand up but Prowler is controlling him.
Prowler sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Silva's guard.
Prowler passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Silva!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Prowler jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Silva is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Silva and Prowler has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Prowler goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Silva has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Prowler but great work by Silva.

Silva stands up and beckons Prowler to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Silva fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Prowler on the side of the head.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Silva's corner calls for a 1-2. Silva obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Prowler has managed to clinch.
Prowler tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Silva just stands there and leans against the cage.

Silva is trying to force a seperation but Prowler has the dominant position.

Prowler throws a nice looking combination but Silva bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Silva sends Prowler crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Silva is motioning to the referee to let Prowler up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Prowler is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Prowler walks straight into a right hand from Silva - that's dropped him! Silva jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Prowler from any more punishment! Prowler complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

After winning the bout, Alex Silva thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
