The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
van Greeven shoots in but Mak avoids the takedown attempt easily.
van Greeven moves into range and connects with a jab.

It looks like Freddy Mak has been cut.

van Greeven content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Mak has the hooks in. van Greeven is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
van Greeven has hold of Mak's arm. He needs to escape this position sooner or later but for now he's happy enough to control the position and prevent the submission attempts.

Mak has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but van Greeven can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mak has momentary wrist control but van Greeven slips an elbow through the middle.
van Greeven gets to his feet and stands over Mak, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Mak felt that one! van Greeven unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Mak from any more punishment!
