Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Omar Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimbo Brice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Omar Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimbo Brice!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Chad Campbell and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brice closes the distance looking to clinch

and Khan counters with a single leg into guard. Brice didn't expect that.

Khan drops back looking for a leg! Brice is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Brice manages to kick Khan off! Khan jumps back into Brice's guard.
Brice tries to strike from the bottom.
Khan with a flurry of punches that miss.
Brice looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Khan's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Omar Khan just wasn't active enough.
Khan is trying hard to land a takedown here. Brice sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Brice tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Brice stuffs the takedown attempt from Khan. Khan gets slowly back to his feet.
Khan fails with a takedown attempt.

Brice drives through with a takedown into guard.
Brice really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Khan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Khan is on top in guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brice wants to get back to his feet but Khan is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Brice is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Khan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Brice tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Khan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Khan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Brice defends it nicely.
Brice leaves Khan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Khan scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Brice wants to improve his position but Khan is controlling well.

Brice is looking to control Khan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Brice avoid being mounted?

Khan wants to take a breather but Brice is having none of it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Brice looks to clinch

and Khan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brice wants to improve his position but Khan is controlling well.
Brice is not content to let Khan control the position.

Khan is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brice defends it well.
Brice is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Brice wants to control but Khan is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Khan is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Khan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Brice sees it coming and defends easily.

Brice tries to roll over but Khan keeps him under control.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Brice tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Khan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Brice bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Khan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Khan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Brice circles away.
Khan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Brice darts in and clinches Khan up against the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Brice creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Brice throws an elbow but it misses.
Brice lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Khan is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Brice tightens his grip and picks Khan up, before dumping him to the ground. Khan manages to land in guard.
Brice must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Brice tries to stand but Khan is controlling from the bottom.
Khan is trying to keep Brice in close.
Brice is looking to stand up but Khan won't let him.

Brice drops back, looking for a kneebar! Khan looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Khan looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Khan!

Brice can't do much from the bottom here.
Brice is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Khan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Brice keeps working.

Khan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Brice is trying to get back to half guard.

Khan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Khan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Khan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Brice is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Khan has hold of Brice's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Brice seems comfortable defending it but Khan has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Brice is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Brice is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Khan couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 9:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Omar Khan!
