The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lupu looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Yildiz is fending him off so far but Lupu persists. Nope, Yildiz circles away and we're back to standing.
Yildiz swats away the attempt to clinch by Lupu.
Lupu looks to land a combination but Yildiz avoids it well.

and Yildiz counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Yildiz.

Yildiz is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Lupu can't fight it off and eventually Yildiz manages to take the fight to the floor. Lupu looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Yildiz wants to control from the top but Lupu keeps moving.

Lupu has an active guard here but Yildiz has managed to pass into half guard.
Yildiz wants to free his trapped foot but Lupu is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Yildiz is trying to control the action in half guard but Lupu is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Yildiz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lupu swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Yildiz is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Yildiz cracks Lupu with a solid left hand.
Lupu manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Lupu avoids the attempt from Yildiz to control.
Lupu wants to control the pace but Yildiz is squirming around nicely.
Yildiz tries to hold on but Lupu pushes him away.

Yildiz is looking to get to half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lupu looking to control but Yildiz is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Poor strikes thrown by Lupu there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Yildiz wants to hold on but Lupu pushes him away.

Lupu breaks from Yildiz's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Lupu is looking to work his way around to Yildiz's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Yildiz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lupu on the ground.
Lupu trying to control but Yildiz is having none of it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A close round but Claudiu Lupu will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Yildiz avoids a kick to the body.

Yildiz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lupu's guard.
Lupu wants to stand but Yildiz is controlling the position.
Lupu doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Lupu is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Yildiz rolls with it to try and escape but Lupu cranks on the arm and Yildiz is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
