Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Henzo Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bobby Tate has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Henzo Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bobby Tate!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Diaz in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Tate keeping moving, preventing Diaz from controlling successfully.
Diaz slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Tate.
Tate is pressing down on Diaz's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Diaz winds up and cracks Tate with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Diaz sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Diaz cracks Tate with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tate thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Tate in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Diaz is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Tate off and has taken his back!
Diaz scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Tate is looking for a way out.
Diaz is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Diaz is working an open guard so Tate takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

and Tate counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Tate counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Tate.
Tate is pressed up against the cage. Diaz has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Tate down to the mat. Tate avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Henzo Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Diaz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tate tries to avoid it but Diaz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tate to the ground. Tate escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Tate lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Diaz bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Henzo Diaz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Tate manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Diaz manages to get himself to full guard.
Tate has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tate accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Diaz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Diaz pulls Tate in close to prevent any damage.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Tate wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving.
Tate content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Tate's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Diaz throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Tate escapes and throws Diaz's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Tate with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

It looks like Henzo Diaz has been cut.
Tate postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Diaz out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Tate goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

After winning the bout, Bobby Tate thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
