Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonah Sumrall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Nowak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sumrall comes to the cage accompanied by Kutless - Smile. Jan Nowak is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jonah Sumrall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jan Nowak!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Nowak shoots for a double leg takedown but Sumrall sprawls well. He's pushed Nowak's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Nowak tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sumrall was well out of range. Poor timing from Nowak.
Sumrall walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Nowak fails with a takedown attempt.

and Sumrall counters with a nice body kick.

and Sumrall counters with a nice kick to the body.
Jonah Sumrall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jan Nowak.
Nowak shoots in looking for a takedown. Sumrall tries to sprawl out of it but Nowak keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sumrall manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Nowak shoots and misses

and Sumrall counters by moving into the clinch.
Sumrall looking to throw knees to the head but Nowak is blocking nicely.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Nowak tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Sumrall misses with a knee strike.
A head punch on the inside from Sumrall fails to land.
Sumrall with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Nowak wants to take the fight to the mat but Sumrall manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Sumrall misses with a knee to the head.
Sumrall throws a knee to the head but misses.
Sumrall throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Nowak blocks it with crossed arms.
Sumrall throws a knee to the head but misses.

Sumrall manages to break the clinch.
Nowak misses with a takedown
and Sumrall makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Nowak really felt that one!

Nowak closes the distance and clinches up with Sumrall, looking for a takedown. Nowak pushes Sumrall against the cage but Sumrall circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

It looks like Jan Nowak has been cut.
Sumrall walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Jonah Sumrall is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nowak shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sumrall as he jumps to the side.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sumrall has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Sumrall there as he acknowledges the shot.
Sumrall stuffs the takedown.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nowak shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sumrall sprawls well. Sumrall wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nowak gets slowly back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nowak misses with a jab to the body
letting Sumrall counter with a right hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jonah Sumrall dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jan Nowak's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Sumrall counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Sumrall.

Sumrall breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nowak misses with a takedown attempt - Sumrall sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nowak misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sumrall.

Nowak shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sumrall but Sumrall pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Nowak gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Sumrall counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Nowak breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nowak gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Sumrall to counter with a crisp jab.

Nowak doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Sumrall counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Nowak is lucky that one didn't land flush.
No luck for Nowak with that takedown attempt.

and Sumrall counters with a big right hand! Oh Nowak is in trouble here! Sumrall follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
