PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brick Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duke Nukem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Turner comes to the cage accompanied by Stale Thoughts by Ground Components. Nukem has chosen The Duke Nukem Theme by Megadeth as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Duke Nukem has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turner closes the distance and clinches up with Nukem, looking for a takedown. Turner pushes Nukem against the cage but Nukem circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nukem cracks Turner with a big right hand and Turner goes down!

Turner is rocked!

Nukem decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Oh Turner is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A combination from Nukem does no damage.
Turner shoots in but no luck this time.
Nukem swinging wilding here.

Turner shoots in and bounces Nukem off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nukem keeping moving, preventing Turner from controlling successfully.
Turner seems to have got his legs back now.
Nukem is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Turner is controlling him.
Turner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nukem swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Nukem is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Nukem throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Turner blocks it with crossed arms.
Nukem with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Turner fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brick Turner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nukem with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Nukem connects with a knee to the head.
Nukem using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Turner has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Nukem is stalling here.

Turner has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Nukem is trying to keep an underhook but Turner manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Nukem manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Turner tries to free his leg and advance position but Nukem is retaining full guard.

Turner throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Turner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Turner looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Turner wants to pass the guard but Nukem is defending well.
Turner trying to control the action but Nukem is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nukem throws a leg kick but Turner moved away.

Turner takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Nukem clinches.
Nukem scores a nice knee to the body.
A knee to the head by Nukem.
Nukem throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Turner blocks it with crossed arms.

Nukem tries to land knees in the clinch but Turner avoids the damage to the body.

Turner jumps into guard, dragging Nukem to the mat.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Turner tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Turner looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Turner throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Turner is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Turner is looking to sinch up a triangle. Nukem throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Turner's body to avoid the submission. Turner has instead reached around Nukem's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Turner arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
