The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from McDermott is defended easily by Diaz.

Diaz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Diaz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
McDermott really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Diaz is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, McDermott has escaped the position, nice work there.
McDermott tries to improve position but can't.

Diaz looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
You can see the frustration on McDermott's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
