Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ronnie Castillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Sarmientino!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sarmientino avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A cross from Castillo lands.
Castillo fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Sarmientino is out of range.
Castillo misses with a low kick.
Castillo throws a sloppy head kick and Sarmientino moves out of range easily.
Castillo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Castillo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sarmientino paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Castillo lands a head kick that stumbles Sarmientino and the fighters go to the mat.


Sarmientino is rocked!


It looks like Jason Sarmientino has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Sarmientino has a closed guard, preventing Castillo from standing up.
Sarmientino is still in real trouble! Can Castillo finish him?

Sarmientino is looking for a triangle but Castillo pushes his legs off easily.
Sarmientino seems to have recovered his senses.
Castillo is looking to stand up but Sarmientino won't let him.
Sarmientino lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Castillo!
Castillo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Castillo tries to get out of the position.

Sarmientino has control of Castillo's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Castillo regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Sarmientino is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Castillo to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Castillo shrugs it off.

Sarmientino is landing with some decent strikes but Castillo is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Sarmientino has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Castillo! Can he survive? No! He's out! Sarmientino gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
