With a record of 27 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kris Marsh!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brian Maddox!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Franklyn Lucas and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marsh cracks Maddox with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Maddox misses with a few strikes there.
Maddox throws a leg kick but Marsh sees it coming and moves out of range.
Marsh keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Maddox.

Marsh punishes Maddox's body with a nice straight punch.

Maddox takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Maddox tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Marsh slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Maddox throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Marsh is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Marsh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Marsh has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Maddox is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Marsh.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Maddox moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Kris Marsh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Marsh fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Maddox tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Marsh throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Marsh throws a leg kick but Maddox sees it coming and moves out of range.

Maddox takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Some bone on bone action there as Maddox checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Marsh lands a really nice looking cross but Maddox seems unphased.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Marsh, right into the meat.
Marsh lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Maddox connects with an inside leg kick.
A telegraphed right hand from Maddox misses the target.
Maddox misses with an uppercut. Marsh saw that one coming.
Maddox takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Maddox's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Marsh connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Maddox scrambles back to his feet.

Maddox connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Marsh's hands.

and Maddox counters with a low kick, right behind Marsh 's knee.

and Marsh decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Maddox's guard.
Marsh stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maddox swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Marsh connects with a couple of short punches.

Marsh engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Marsh throws an elbow that misses. Maddox uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Marsh's guard. Nice move by Maddox!

That was a close second round but I would say that Kris Marsh will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Maddox throws an overhand right that lands on Marsh's shoulder, as Marsh tries to avoid the shot.
Maddox throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Marsh stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
A big left from Marsh misses.
Maddox lands with a hook. Marsh tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Marsh lands a jab to the head.
Marsh throws an overhand right that lands on Maddox's shoulder, as Maddox tries to avoid the shot.
Maddox throws a head kick but Marsh moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Marsh. Maddox does a little dance to reset his feet.

so Marsh counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Kris Marsh overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee warns Marsh that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Marsh wants to hold on but Maddox pushes him away.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Oooooh, big shot lands for Maddox! Marsh is hurt baaadly! Maddox is firing away with more strikes - Marsh is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brian Maddox! Brian Maddox retains his featherweight title!
