Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sullivan Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rasputin Briar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sullivan Paul has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sullivan Paul!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rasputin Briar!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Briar keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Horrible takedown by Paul or perhaps it was just good defense by Briar which made him look bad.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Paul is defended easily by Briar.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sullivan Paul. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Paul scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Paul is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Briar knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Briar wants to control but Paul postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Paul tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Paul could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Paul is chipping away with strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Paul working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The referee asks Paul politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Paul prefers to stall for the moment though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Paul tries to stand but Briar is controlling his head.
Briar tries to bench press Paul off him but Paul keeps the position.
Paul wants to stand but Briar has his arm trapped.
Briar seems a little lost for a moment, as Paul dominates the positioning.
Briar gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Paul with a couple of short strikes.

Briar blocking the ground and pound.
Briar tries to lock up and control but Paul gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Briar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Paul. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Paul lands a heavy elbow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Paul punishing his opponent with strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Paul working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Paul takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Briar wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sullivan Paul dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Paul shoots for a takedown but Briar saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Paul pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Paul misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Paul shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Briar pinned against the cage. Briar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Paul.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sullivan Paul. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Paul shoots for a takedown but Briar saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Briar displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Paul.
Sullivan Paul seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Briar cracks Paul with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.


It looks like Sullivan Paul has been cut.
Paul shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Briar as he avoids it easily.
Briar punishes Paul's body with a nice straight punch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Briar cracks Paul with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.


Sullivan Paul's cut is getting worse.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Paul tries to score a power double leg takedown but Briar sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Paul somewhat.
Briar lands a nice hook to Paul's body. Paul takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Briar sends Paul crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Briar is motioning to the referee to let Paul up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Sullivan Paul is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Paul misses with a double jab
and Briar counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Paul walks into a left hand.


Sullivan Paul's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
BOOM! Briar lands a beautiful left hook that drops Paul. Paul tries to recover but Briar is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Paul lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rasputin Briar!
A very excited looking Rasputin Briar made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
