PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Julius Tomson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tomson comes to the cage accompanied by Bubba Shot the Jukebox last night- Mark Chestnut. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Simmons!

Tomson goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Tomson tries to clinch but Simmons is having none of it.
Simmons throws a hook but Tomson avoids it easily.

Tomson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Simmons swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tomson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tomson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Simmons, pushing him back against the cage.

Simmons lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tomson circles away quickly and effectively.
Tomson shoots for a double leg takedown but Simmons sprawls well. He's pushed Tomson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tomson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Simmons tries to avoid it but Tomson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Simmons to the ground. Simmons escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Tomson has his foot on Simmons's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Simmons works his way back into a safe position though.

Tomson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Simmons stacks Tomson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Simmons!

Tomson is looking for a sweep. Simmons is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Simmons drops Tomson with a huge uppercut! Tomson drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Simmons is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
