Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tommy McDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Messinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Messinger has chosen Huckleberry by Ichabod as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Messinger.
Messinger with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Messinger misses with a head kick.
Messinger throws a half hearted mid kick.
McDonald is trying hard to land a takedown here. Messinger sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
McDonald takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Messinger throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by McDonald.
McDonald is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

McDonald gets tackled into the cage by Messinger. Messinger maintains the clinch.
McDonald is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Messinger is pressed up against the cage. McDonald has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Messinger down to the mat. Messinger avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Messinger clinches up with McDonald and pushes him back against the cage.

Messinger gets control of McDonald's arms and successfully pulls guard. Messinger will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

McDonald got a little sloppy there for a moment and Messinger has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McDonald has managed to get both his arms back between Messinger's legs - danger averted.
McDonald stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Messinger swivels though and keeps the full guard.

McDonald is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Messinger is aware though and is defending well.
Messinger must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Messinger avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Messinger accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Will Messinger was stalling too much, according to the referee.
McDonald takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Messinger throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Messinger uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McDonald.
Messinger lands a nice leg kick that just misses McDonald's sensitive parts.
Messinger tries to clinch but McDonald moves out of range.

Messinger darts in and clinches McDonald up against the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Messinger breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Messinger lands a leg kick that knocks McDonald off balance momentarily.
McDonald shoots in but Messinger avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Messinger throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McDonald shoots in for a takedown but Messinger shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Messinger wants to clinch but McDonald slips to the side
and McDonald counters with a nice uppercut.
Will Messinger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
McDonald goes for a takedown attempt but Messinger pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Messinger is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but McDonald has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Messinger is looking to defend but McDonald has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Messinger! McDonald pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Messinger taps out and this one is all over!

Tommy McDonald decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
