PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dhal Sim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Pein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sim comes to the cage accompanied by Otherside by Red Hot Chili Pepper. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dhal Sim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Max Pein!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pein swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Sim counters with a nice uppercut.
Pein misses with a two punch combination.
Pein throws a shot from downtown. Sim moves away and avoids it.
Sim scores with a leg kick.
Pein takes a swing at Sim's ribcage but misses.
Pein misses with a hook
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Pein misses with a looping left.
Sim moves out of range of the strikes.
Sim takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Sim lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Pein paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Pein stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Sim.
Pein looks to throw the jab but Sim is out of range.
Sim has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Sim.
The fighters circling - Pein throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Pein lands with an uppercut that bounces Sim off the cage and back into range.
Pein is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sim sizes up Pein with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Sim connects with a right that clearly hurt Pein. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Sim proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Pein collapses and taps out under the pressure!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dhal Sim!
