Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steele scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Routalempi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Steele changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Routalempi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Routalempi is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Steele's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Routalempi wants to get back to full guard.
Steele seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Routalempi is desperately trying to improve his position but Steele has a good base and remains in mount.
Routalempi tries to lock up and control but Steele gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Routalempi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Steele on the ground.

Steele tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Steele is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Routalempi to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Routalempi shrugs it off.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Steele has hold of Routalempi's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Routalempi manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Routalempi bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Steele working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Routalempi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Steele is tightening it up a little... Routalempi has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Routalempi reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Routalempi taps out! Nice BJJ there by Steele!
