Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Evan Malone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Turner has chosen Take Em Out- Rev Theory as his entrance music. Jason Turner has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Evan Malone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jason Turner!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Malone feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Malone tries to stand but Turner is controlling from the bottom.

Malone is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Malone got a little sloppy there for a moment and Turner has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Malone has managed to get both his arms back between Turner's legs - danger averted.

Turner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Malone can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Malone is trying to control. Turner wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Malone is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Turner is just riding it out for now. Malone eventually gives up the hold.
Turner tries to get to full guard but Malone has control of the leg.

Malone advances to full mount.
Malone in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Malone fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Turner tries to reverse the position but Malone maintains control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Turner tries to lock up and control but Malone gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Malone wants to control the pace but Turner is squirming around nicely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Malone is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Turner has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Turner is in all sorts of trouble here.

Horrible takedown by Malone or perhaps it was just good defense by Turner which made him look bad.
Malone will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Turner changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Malone looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Turner is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Malone is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Malone is trying to control Turner's posture but Turner avoids it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Malone's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Malone gets caught flat footed, as Turner shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Evan Malone overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Turner looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Malone has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Turner is working away from the top position though.
Malone is pressing down on Turner's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Malone keeping moving, preventing Turner from controlling successfully.
Malone wants to stand up but Turner is controlling him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Malone will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Turner postures up in Malone's guard and throws a big left but Malone blocks it.
Malone is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Turner wants to improve his position but Malone is controlling well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Turner is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Turner is refusing to be controlled, as Malone sits in half guard.
Turner regains full guard. Nicely done.

Turner is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Malone is aware though and is defending well.

Turner wants to sweep but no luck.
Malone slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Malone wants to get up but he can't break Turner's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Evan Malone.

Turner shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Malone makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Malone.
Turner is pushing down on Malone's leg trying to pass to half guard. Malone is fighting to maintain full guard but Turner has managed to sneak the leg through.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Turner is trying to control the action in half guard but Malone is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Turner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jason Turner wasn't active enough on the ground.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Turner can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jason Turner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Turner has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
