Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Benson Clifton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ethan Larsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ethan Larsen!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Clifton fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Larsen sprawls well initially but Clifton persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Clifton is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Clifton is taking a breather. Larsen says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Larsen is trying to stand.

Clifton looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Larsen is defending against the submission attempts here by Clifton.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Clifton drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Larsen manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Clifton has Larsen in his guard.
Larsen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Ethan Larsen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Clifton tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Larsen swivels and escapes.

Larsen throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Clifton tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Larsen is in Clifton's guard.

Clifton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Larsen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Larsen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Clifton is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Larsen content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Ethan Larsen.
I think Larsen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
