Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steven Lidae (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Turnham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lidae comes to the cage accompanied by Lighters. Steven Lidae has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lidae throws a shot from downtown. Turnham moves away and avoids it.
Lidae misses with a straight left.
Nice shot lands for Lidae.
Lidae looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Turnham is fending him off so far but Lidae persists. Nope, Turnham circles away and we're back to standing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Turnham postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Turnham must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Turnham works over Lidae with some ground and pound from guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lidae throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Turnham decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Turnham throws a head kick but Lidae moves out of range.
Lidae ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Turnham pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lidae lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Turnham at a distance.

Turnham instigates a clinch.

Lidae has clasped his hands together around Turnham's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Lidae looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Turnham tries to bench press Lidae off him but Lidae keeps the position.
Turnham defending against the ground and pound.
Lidae cracks Turnham with a big right hand but Turnham just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Lidae tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Lidae has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Turnham is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Lidae has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Lidae wants to lay and pray for a moment but Turnham keeps working.
Turnham is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Lidae lands some shots froms side control.
Lidae advances to full mount.
Lidae throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Lidae pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Lidae is landing with some decent strikes but Turnham is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Turnham wants to control but Lidae is having none of it.
Lidae fails to move to back control.
Turnham wants to try and get back to his feet.

Lidae wants to control the pace but Turnham is squirming around nicely.
Lidae thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lidae wants to finish this one by submission but Turnham is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Lidae.
Lidae lands a big elbow.

Lidae has hold of Turnham's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Turnham manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Lidae is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Turnham to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Turnham shrugs it off.
Turnham tries to buck Lidae off but he can't manage it.

Turnham is squirming around, avoiding Lidae's attempts to control the action.

Lidae is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Turnham has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Turnham!

Lidae is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lidae looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Turnham is defending well. Lidae quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Turnham has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Lidae celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
