The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lancaster has Kokina up against the cage in a clinch.
A right hand to the body from Lancaster.
Lancaster wants a takedown but no success here.
Kokina has Lancaster pressed against the cage, preventing Lancaster from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Kokina misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Lancaster.
Lancaster lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Kokina backwards.
Kokina tries to break free but Lancaster pushes him back against the cage.

Lancaster pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lancaster gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Kokina looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Lancaster takes one on the button.
Lancaster tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kokina sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lancaster somewhat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Kokina is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Lancaster asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Lancaster stands up and beckons Kokina to his feet.

Lancaster shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kokina as he jumps to the side.
Haku Kokina has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Troy Lancaster.
Kokina throws a right hand that Lancaster ducks under and follows up with a left that Lancaster also avoids with ease.
Lancaster lunges at Kokina with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kokina's hand.
Kokina throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Lancaster has a takedown stuffed.
Kokina stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kokina wants it to stay on the feet.
Lancaster misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A punch combination from Kokina misses.
Lancaster thuds his right hand into Kokina's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Lancaster shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lancaster was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Kokina is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Lancaster has just dragged him back down to the mat.
