Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anthony Ashnault!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clyde Monteforte!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ashnault misses with a hook. Monteforte ducked under it nicely.
Monteforte shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Monteforte throws a right and a left that Ashnault avoids nicely.
Monteforte keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ashnault.
Ashnault throws a hook but Monteforte avoids it easily.

Ashnault closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ashnault lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Ashnault seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Monteforte wants to get back to his feet but Ashnault is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Ashnault lunges at Monteforte with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Monteforte's hand.

Ashnault lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ashnault.
Monteforte tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Ashnault is looking to work some ground and pound but Monteforte has wrist control.
Ashnault won't allow Monteforte to get back to his feet.
Ashnault seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Ashnault fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Monteforte sprawls well initially but Ashnault persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Monteforte is breathing heavily.

Ashnault slips a nice elbow through Monteforte's hands, connecting with Monteforte's forehead.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Anthony Ashnault just wasn't active enough.

Ashnault throws a body punch but Monteforte moves out of range.

Ashnault is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ashnault thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Monteforte's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

The fighters circling - Ashnault throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Ashnault is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Monteforte can do to turn this around?

The fighters circle momentarily. Ashnault darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Ashnault loads up on a big right hand but Monteforte slips the punch.

Ashnault is looking to pass into half guard but Monteforte pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Monteforte is in guard.
Monteforte must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Ashnault manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
