Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Igor Maksimenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Esteban Procurator (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Esteban Procurator has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Procurator is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Maksimenko's half guard.
Maksimenko regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Procurator.
Procurator trying to control the position from guard on top but Maksimenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Procurator throws an elbow that misses. Maksimenko uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Procurator's guard. Nice move by Maksimenko!
Procurator looking to hit a scissor sweep but Maksimenko is one step ahead there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Procurator can do anything to dispel that myth.

Maksimenko wants to control from the top but Procurator keeps moving.
Maksimenko would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Procurator looking to hit a scissor sweep but Maksimenko is one step ahead there.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Igor Maksimenko just wasn't active enough.

Procurator goes for a takedown attempt but Maksimenko pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Procurator throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Maksimenko dives in and grabs Procurator's left leg, looking for a takedown. Procurator pushes down on Maksimenko's head and hops out.
Maksimenko shoots for a double leg takedown but Procurator sprawls well. He's pushed Maksimenko's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Maksimenko blocks a head kick by Procurator.
Maksimenko uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Procurator.
Maksimenko leaves Procurator with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Igor Maksimenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Esteban Procurator.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maksimenko is not content to let Procurator control the position.
Procurator is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Procurator is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Maksimenko sees it coming and defends easily.

Procurator looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Maksimenko with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Procurator winds up and cracks Maksimenko with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Procurator lands a strong strike to the head of Maksimenko. That's dazed him! Procurator looking to finish here. Maksimenko is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Procurator lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
