PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bryce Murray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santiago Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Garcia moves into the clinch successfully.

Murray has hold of one of Garcia's legs. Garcia is fighting the takedown attempt but Murray gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Garcia has his foot on Murray's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Murray works his way back into a safe position though.

Murray is pressing down on Garcia's thigh, looking to free his foot. Garcia is holding on for now.
Garcia wants to control but Murray is keeping busy.
Murray looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Garcia with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Garcia is looking to get back to full guard here but Murray has managed to pass to side control instead.

Murray seems a little lost for a moment, as Garcia dominates the positioning.

Garcia dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Murray. That did some damage!

Murray will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Murray is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Garcia is just riding it out for now. Murray eventually gives up the hold.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Murray tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Garcia paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Garcia thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Murray's head.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Garcia takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Garcia throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Murray's head.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Garcia crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Murray - the referee stops the clock and Garcia gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Murray. Garcia manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Garcia is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Murray has his hands clasped together but Garcia extends an breaks Murray's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Garcia.
