The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Melendez clinches with his opponent.
Sobral tries to break free but Melendez pushes him back against the ropes.
Melendez swings wildly with an uppercut but Sobral uses good head movement to avoid it.
Melendez is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Sobral wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Sobral wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Sobral pulls guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Sobral wants to stand but Melendez is controlling the position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Sobral is looking to stand up but Melendez isn't so interested in that idea.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ricardo Melendez hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Melendez shoots in looking for a takedown. Sobral tries to sprawl out of it but Melendez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Sobral manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sobral feints a jab promting Melendez to slip. Sobral then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Melendez slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

It looks like Ricardo Melendez has been cut.
Sobral tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Melendez takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Sobral lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Sobral.

Melendez finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the ropes, ducking and weaving under Sobral's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Melendez falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
