The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Williams gets a takedown into half guard.

Bravado is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Williams pulls his head out easily.

Bravado is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Bravado controls Williams momentarily but Williams frees himself.

Bravado had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Williams is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Bravado Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Williams's back instead.

Williams really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bravado. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bravado is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Williams is defending well though. Bravado let's go of the attempt for now.

Williams manages to escape to his feet.

Bravado escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Williams gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bravado has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Williams can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Williams wants to get up but he can't break Bravado's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Bravado is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bravado has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Williams can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Bravado bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Williams's guard.
Bravado slips nicely into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Williams lands with a hook. Bravado tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Williams throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bravado's waist but Bravado gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Williams off to one side.

Williams throws a right hand that Bravado ducks under and follows up with a left that Bravado also avoids with ease.

Williams rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bravado moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Williams can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bravado can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Williams is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bravado is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Williams is surviving well by controlling Bravado's body position as best he can.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bravado is working for a rear naked choke. Williams is not defending it well and Bravado has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Williams refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Williams's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
