The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Houser gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Johnson wants to pass the guard but Houser is keeping the position.

Houser wants to get back to his feet but Johnson passes into half guard.
Houser trying to control from the bottom.

Johnson wants to pass to mount but Houser is defending the position.

Houser slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

and Johnson counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Houser escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Johnson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Houser is looking for a triangle but Johnson pushes his legs off easily.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Johnson won't allow Houser to sweep him here.

Johnson stands up and waves to Houser to follow him.
Houser avoids a kick to the body.
Johnson fails to land with a series of punches.
A head kick misses from Houser.
Johnson throws a low kick but Houser avoids it.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Houser as he jumps to the side.
Johnson scores with a shot to the body.

Johnson fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Houser manages to break the clinch.
Johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - Houser circles away.
Johnson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Houser fails to land the takedown.

and Johnson moves into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jemini Houser. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Johnson breaks from the clinch.

Houser gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Houser. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Johnson has closed the distance and engaged Houser in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carl Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Houser throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Johnson won't allow Houser to get back to his feet.

Houser kicks Johnson off and gets to his feet.

Houser looks to move to half guard but instead Johnson has passed into mount! Damn!

Houser is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Houser manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Johnson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Houser trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Johnson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Houser tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Johnson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Johnson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Johnson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Houser's shoulder. That is not cool.
Houser is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Johnson cracks Houser with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Johnson is working Houser over with some ground and pound from side control.

Johnson stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Johnson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Houser wants to improve his position but Johnson is controlling well.
Johnson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Johnson wants to pass to mount but Houser is defending the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Carl Johnson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Johnson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
