And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Compton Asassin!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asassin circles away from the clinch attempt.
Benton throws a shot to the body.
Benton wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Benton misses with a jab, cross combination.
Benton scores with a nice right hand.


It looks like Compton Asassin has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Benton throws a series of strikes that have Asassin backpedaling.
Benton misses with a body shot.
Asassin bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Benton misses with the combination.
Benton is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Asassin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Benton throws out the jab.
Benton circles away from the clinch attempt.
Benton fails in his attempt to clinch.
Benton tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Asassin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Benton.
Benton will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Benton swings away with a body shot that misses
and Asassin counters with a nice body kick.
Benton blocks a head kick by Asassin.
Benton lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Benton is looking to wear down Asassin with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Benton takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Benton tries to close the distance and clinch but Asassin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Benton displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Asassin.
Asassin looks winded!
Benton uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Asassin has time to react.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Benton lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Asassin at a distance.
Asassin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Benton throws out the jab.
Asassin takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Benton just misses with a punch to the body.
Benton tries to close the distance and clinch but Asassin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bubba Benton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Benton wants to clinch

and Asassin counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Benton wants to control but Asassin is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Asassin wants to stand but Benton has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Benton is looking to control Asassin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Benton avoid being mounted?
Asassin blocks the strikes from Benton.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We're going to have a standup here because Bubba Benton wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Asassin takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Benton looks to score with a jab to the body but Asassin is just out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Benton forces Asassin back against the cage and clinches.
Asassin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Benton's efforts to push away.
Benton is working for takedown but Asassin is calmly controlling the position for now.

Asassin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Benton feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Asassin sprawling to the canvas! Asassin rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Benton finish him?!


That has opened up Compton Asassin's cut even more.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Benton throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nice takedown defense from Benton. No joy for Asassin on that attempt.
Benton fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Benton fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Benton lands with a big right hook that stumbles Asassin - he's out on his feet here! Benton follows up with another monster hook that separates Asassin from consciousness! Asassin falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Benton stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Bubba Benton!
