Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Behnder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Steve Austin has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Austin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marcus Behnder!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Austin slaps away a takedown attempt from Behnder, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Behnder shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Behnder stops Austin from getting back to his feet.

Behnder is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Austin sees it coming and defends easily.
Behnder is looking to advance position but Austin won't allow it.

Behnder is looking for a kimura but Austin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Behnder to get the leverage.

Behnder thows a huge punch but Austin dodges it nicely.

Behnder is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Austin defends it well.
Behnder thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Austin's head.

Behnder is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Austin kicks Behnder off and gets back to his feet.

Behnder wants to clinch up but Austin keeps it at a distance.

Behnder tries a low kick but Austin avoids it.

Behnder tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Austin swivels and escapes.

Behnder throws a leg kick which misses Austin's front leg but catches the back leg as Austin tries to avoid it.
Behnder throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Austin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Behnder throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Behnder throws out a loose jab but Austin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Behnder throws a low kick, looking for Austin's leg but Austin calmly moves out of range.
Behnder throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Behnder tries to land a front kick but Austin steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Austin checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Behnder is defended easily by Austin.
Steve Austin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Behnder.
Behnder shoots in looking for a takedown. Austin tries to sprawl out of it but Behnder keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Austin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Austin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Behnder shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Austin is trying to defend but Behnder finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Behnder is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Austin has managed to free his arm - good work.

Behnder shoots for a takedown but Austin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Marcus Behnder showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Behnder looks to land a left hand but Austin moved out of range nicely.

Austin trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Austin parries the strikes from Behnder easily there. Behnder is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Austin to escape.
Austin wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Behnder advances to mount.

It looks like Steve Austin has been cut.
Behnder breaks from Austin's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Behnder lands a big elbow - Austin is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Austin is forced to tap out!
