The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abbandando throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Abbandando ducks under a wild hook from Thang.
Abbandando attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Abbandando displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Thang throws out the jab.
Thang tries to clinch there but Abbandando circles away.

Thang shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Thang was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Thang has hold of Abbandando's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Abbandando tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Thang cranks the arm and Abbandando screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Abbandando, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
