Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Via Dios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dios comes to the cage accompanied by Sandstorm. Ortiz has chosen Psycho Realm Revoltion as his entrance music. Carlos Ortiz is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Via Dios!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carlos Ortiz!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dios throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ortiz tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dios is in Ortiz's guard.
Ortiz keeping full guard, as Dios tries to pass.
Dios is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Dios works over Ortiz with some ground and pound from guard.
Dios stopping the sweep attempt from Ortiz.
Dios missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Dios content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Dios postures up in Ortiz's guard and throws a big left but Ortiz blocks it.

Dios really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Dios throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ortiz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ortiz can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dios controls the pace.
Dios scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Dios is looking to work some ground and pound but Ortiz has wrist control.
Dios trying to control the position from guard on top but Ortiz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Dios throwing strikes from guard but Ortiz blocks nicely.
Dios is pushing down on Ortiz's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ortiz is fighting to maintain full guard but Dios has managed to sneak the leg through.

Dios is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ortiz doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dios.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dios thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Ortiz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dios. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dios throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Dios not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Dios working over Ortiz with some ground and pound. Ortiz looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Dios thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ortiz's head.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Dios lands strikes from half guard.
Dios thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ortiz's head.
Dios works his way into side control.
Ortiz avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Dios.
Dios connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Ortiz some visible discomfort.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dios working the body and head with strikes.
Ortiz is not content to let Dios control the position.
Dios working the ground and pound from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Via Dios dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Dios drives through with a takedown into Ortiz's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Dios pushing down on Ortiz's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Ortiz is still in real trouble! Can Dios finish him?

Dios is trying to work for a kimura but Ortiz is defending well.

Ortiz seems to have recovered his senses.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dios connects with a nice short shot to Ortiz's temple.

Ortiz tries to get to full guard but Dios has control of the leg.
Dios perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Dios is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ortiz is just riding it out for now. Dios eventually gives up the hold.
Dios takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Dios passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Ortiz!

Dios is working for a guillotine from mount but Ortiz frees his head quite easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dios pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dios with good strikes from the mount here!
Dios has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Dios postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Ortiz in real trouble here! The ref calls for Ortiz to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Via Dios!
A very excited looking Via Dios made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
