Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Hugh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerald Hans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hans has chosen This is not a song, its a Sandwhich - Psychostick as his entrance music. Jacob Hugh is staring across the ring at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jacob Hugh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gerald Hans!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Roberts and Joseph Jones.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hugh gets the takedown into side control.
Hans is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Hugh stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Hans tries to clinch but Hugh moves out of range.
Hans tries to clinch up.

Hugh fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hans, pushing him back against the ropes.
Hugh takes a knee right on the jaw!
Hugh tries for a takedown. No joy.
A knee to the head by Hans.
Hans has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hugh avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Hugh scores with a nice short uppercut.
Hans tries to pull guard but Hugh holds him up against the ropes and eventually Hans drops back down to his feet.

Hans manages to pull guard.
Hugh passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Hugh is looking to take a break and control but Hans is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hugh is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hans is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Hugh tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Hugh tries to move to mount but Hans blocks the move with his legs.
Hans is looking for a sweep.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Hans closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.

Hugh wants the takedown. Hans is fighting it off but Hugh persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hans's guard against the ropes.
Hugh is breathing heavily.

Hans is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hans escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hugh gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hugh drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hans dives on top into guard.
Hugh wants to sweep but no luck.
Hugh controls Hans momentarily but Hans frees himself.
Hans slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Hugh tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Hugh could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hans stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hugh swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hugh is looking for a triangle but Hans pushes his legs off easily.
Hans wants to pass the guard but Hugh is keeping the position.

Hugh is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hugh tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hans knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Hugh is stalling here. Hans is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Hugh seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Hans has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Hans wants to pass to mount but Hugh is defending the position.
Hugh tries to roll over but Hans keeps him under control.
Hans is thwarting Hugh's attempts to control the position.
Hugh is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Hugh drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hugh jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hugh is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Hugh thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hans escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hugh gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Hugh tries to free his leg and advance position but Hans is retaining full guard.
Hans is breathing heavily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Hans tries for a takedown but Hugh sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Hugh feints and as Hans raises his hands in defense, Hugh changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hugh advances to half guard.
Hans is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hugh's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hugh's back!
Hans is looking to control Hugh but Hugh is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Hans lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.

Hugh is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Hans gets his way!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hugh is on top in guard.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Hugh here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Hans had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Hugh is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hans Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Hugh's back instead.

Jacob Hugh overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
