The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neeson shoots for a double leg takedown but Drift sprawls well. He's pushed Neeson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Neeson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Drift!

Neeson tries for a kimura but Drift is defending well.
Neeson misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Drift tries to bench press Neeson off him but Neeson keeps the position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Drift is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Drift has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Neeson is working away from the top position though.

Neeson lands a big elbow - Drift is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Neeson!

After the fight, Liam Neeson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
