And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bentley Tessin!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Chris Edwards and Sam Margolis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roper shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tessin as he jumps to the side.
Roper fails with a takedown attempt.
Tessin closes the distance and clinches up with Roper, looking for a takedown. Tessin pushes Roper against the cage but Roper circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Roper defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tessin.
Roper is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tessin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Roper. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Roper tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tessin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Roper somewhat.
Scott Roper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tessin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Roper stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tessin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Roper drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Roper jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Roper is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Tessin wants to get back to his feet.

Tessin is defending against the submission attempts here by Roper.

Roper is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Roper is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Tessin has one foot on Roper's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Roper fails with the takedown.
Tessin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tessin wants it to stay on the feet.
Tessin slaps away a takedown attempt from Roper, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Tessin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Roper swivels and escapes.

and Tessin counters with a shoot takedown. Roper fights it but they end up in guard.

Tessin wants to stand but Roper is controlling his posture from full guard.

Roper is looking for a triangle but Tessin pushes his legs off easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Roper is looking to sinch up a triangle. Tessin throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Roper's body to avoid the submission. Roper has instead reached around Tessin's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Roper arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

After the fight, Scott Roper was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
