Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cam Lawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronson Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Linkin Park - In The End. Ronson Johnson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cam Lawson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ronson Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson moves in looking to clinch but Lawson pushes him off.
Johnson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lawson is fending him off so far but Johnson persists. Nope, Lawson circles away and we're back to standing.

Johnson clinches up against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Johnson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Johnson manages to end up in side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Johnson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Johnson throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Lawson to regain full guard.
Johnson is working Lawson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lawson prevents a takedown attempt there.
Johnson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lawson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Lawson tries to clinch but Johnson is having none of it.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lawson as he avoids it easily.

Lawson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Johnson is looking to clinch but Lawson is avoiding it.

Lawson throws a nice looking combination but Johnson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lawson throws a right and a left that Johnson avoids nicely.

Lawson jumps into guard, dragging Johnson to the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lawson is looking to stand up but Johnson isn't so interested in that idea.
Johnson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lawson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Johnson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Johnson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Johnson looking to sit in guard and control but Lawson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Johnson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Johnson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lawson wants to get up but he can't break Johnson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Johnson has an active guard here but Lawson has managed to pass into half guard.

Lawson stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Johnson to get to his feet.
No luck for Johnson with that takedown attempt.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lawson as he jumps to the side.

and Lawson counters with a series of strikes. Johnson will be more careful next time no doubt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lawson stuffs the takedown attempt from Johnson. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Lawson fails to land with a series of punches.
A nice inside leg kick there by Lawson. That's going to slow Johnson down.
Lawson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Johnson.
Lawson closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Lawson misses with a head kick.
Lawson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Johnson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lawson's guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Johnson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ronson Johnson was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Johnson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lawson to the ground. Johnson is now in Lawson's guard.

Lawson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Johnson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Lawson wants to stand but Johnson is controlling the position.

Johnson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lawson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Lawson is trying to stand.
Johnson slips a nice elbow through Lawson's hands, connecting with Lawson's forehead.
Lawson is trying to stand up here but Johnson is controlling him well.
Johnson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lawson keeps working.

Johnson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ronson Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Johnson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
