Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
16 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Ronnie Ronbo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrew Jones!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ronbo's head backwards.
Ronbo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
An inside leg kick lands from Jones.
Ronbo thows a leg kick but Jones checks it
and Jones counters with a right hand to the body.
Jones shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ronbo pinned against the cage. Ronbo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jones lands a nice looking body kick.
Ronbo misses with a leg kick
and Jones counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Jones misses with a body shot.
Jones lands a head shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nice uppercut lands for Jones. That snapped Ronbo's head back.
Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ronbo was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones.
Jones explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Ronbo misses with a head kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Jones, right into the meat.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sloppy strikes from Jones. Those never looked like landing.

Ronbo closes the distance looking to clinch
and Jones counters with a shoot takedown. Ronbo fights it but they end up in guard.
Ronbo wants to stand but Jones is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones is stalling in the full guard.
Let's hope that Jones has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Andrew Jones.
Jones wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ronbo tries to clinch
and Jones counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Jones moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Jones keeps the fight on the outside.
Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ronbo misses with a lunging right hand
and Jones counters with a left and a right that hurts Ronbo! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Jones jumps into full mount!
Ronbo is rocked!
Jones postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Ronbo in real trouble here! The ref calls for Ronbo to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andrew Jones!
